Browsing the “rape culture” tag and trying so hard to not comment on things that will do nothing but make people quite upset with me. Good way to start an afternoon!

Now, to be fair, there are some posts that have good points and I don’t condone rape in any way. But check this excerpt out:

like, okay. say i do want it. so what? just because i want sex doesn’t mean 1) i want it with you 2) you have permission to give it to me.

like i also want to die but that doesn’t make it okay or give someone permission to walk up and murder me, y’know?

I don’t even have words for this one. It’s a horrible analogy that does nothing but advertise an uncalled for want of attention, and I don’t really think the opinion of someone that wants to die (assuming she ACTUALLY does and isn’t saying that to be “cool”) should have any impact on anyone’s opinions ever. If something is inherently wrong then you don’t need some terrible analogy, let alone one that devalues the statement as a whole.

omg I can’t

I just don’t have time to go through all the posts that come across my dash anymore, at least during the week. I know this doesn’t matter to many of you, but if I miss commenting on something or whatever I probably missed it and I’m sorry and I’ll try to keep up but I really need to be well rested for my job. I can still respond to asks though! Not nearly as time consuming as dozens of pages of stuff.

In this case, it shouldn’t matter whether they believe in gay marriage or not. And it’s ok for them to share their opinion, whatever floats their boat. I’ll judge them based on the quality of their storage services. But calling it the best post because you agree with the opinion represented is both immature and a sad commentary of the people who populate tumblr.
